Deleting an album

Deleting an album permanently removes it from your account. Most of the time you'll want Archiving an album instead β€” but if you're sure the album needs to go, this is how it works.

Before you start

  • Only admins can delete albums. If you don't see the option, your role doesn't have permission.

  • Deletion is permanent. There's no undo and no recovery window.

  • If you might want this album back someday, archive it instead.

How to delete an album

  1. Open the album you want to delete.

  2. Click the More menu (3-dot icon at the top right of the album page).

  3. Select Delete album.

  4. Review the consequences in the confirmation modal.

  5. Click Delete album to confirm. You'll be returned to your albums dashboard.

What gets deleted

  • The album itself

  • Every photo in the album (originals and thumbnails)

  • All unpublished posts generated from the album β€” Instagram drafts, blog drafts, and any scheduled posts that haven't gone out yet

  • The album's subjects

  • Any active share links to the album

What survives

  • Posts already published to Instagram or WordPress stay live on those platforms. Deleting the album in Social Valet doesn't reach into your social accounts.

  • Vendors are not deleted. They exist independently and stay in your vendor database for use on other albums.

Delete vs. archive

Archive is the safer default. It hides the album from your main view and stops it from generating new content, but everything stays intact and the album can be restored. Use Delete album only when you're certain you'll never need the album, its photos, or its unpublished posts again.
